Managing an Organization
Managing Organization Members
The Members page helps you control admission, invite teammates, assign roles, and manage access to your organization.
Who Can Manage Members
Member management is available to elevated roles. Founders and directors can add members, change roles, and remove users. Chiefs can invite new members when admission is restricted.
Admission Policy
- Restricted admission requires invites for new members.
- Unrestricted admission lets anyone with the invite link join.
Toggling the admission policy updates the organization configuration immediately.
Invite Links
- Generate an invite link from the Members page and copy it with one click.
- The invite link always includes your organization URL so teammates land on the right workspace.
- If end-to-end encryption is enabled, you can optionally include the encryption key in the invite link.
Only share encryption keys with trusted teammates. Sharing the key grants access to encrypted organization data.
Adding Members
Use the Add Member action to invite a new teammate. The dialog lets you choose their role and sends the invitation through the organization.
Roles and Permissions
- Member: Standard access to teams and projects they are part of.
- Chief: Can create teams/projects, supervise, and remove members in most cases.
- Director: Full organization setup access, can manage roles, and delete teams/projects.
- Founder: Highest privilege; can promote/demote other founders and schedule organization deletion.
Removing Members
Directors and founders can remove members from the organization. The app shows a confirmation dialog before removing access.
